Another hand that I was told that I had to write up. I got knocked out of a tournament on the second hand. I was in mid-position with AhQd. I raised and only one of the blinds called. The flop came 10dXdXd. The other player checked so I made a bet that he called. Another diamond comes on the turn (I think).  The critical thought, whether on the turn or river, was that I thought he was also sitting on a diamond.  Only 2 diamonds beat me, or so I thought. : )  Based off of how he has played so far, and I have no historical knowledge for him, I don’t think he has the Ace. Which, was correct. : )  So maybe he called with a KdXx. I thought I’d sell that I have the Ace.  I went all in.  After some thought, which everyone questioned him as to why he had to think, he called.  He had the 7d, which gave him a straight flush.

I had to look at the other card he had and it was a 5h.  He called a raise before the flop with 7-5 off suit! And drew to a straight flush with it.  He should have bought a lottery ticket that day because with that kind of luck he was a shoe in.

One reason, I believe that the other players enjoy this story is because it put me on tilt.  Which is a little on the rare side.

My tilt continued in the cash game between tourneys because a calling station kept hitting.  It wasn’t personal, he was screwing everyone. I finally evened the score, for myself at least, when I’m holding A-4 and I call his expected bet after the flop with nothing. An Ace comes on the turn.  More betting. A 4 on the river. Finally, I have him.  I take a nice pot.

And then in the second tourney another round of my strong hand being second best. Again.  I have 7-7, and the flop comes 7-8-9. I love my set, but I don’t like the straight draw.  But as it turned out, there was no draw. He had it on the flop.  I go down again.

At a Badger poker event I make it to the final 20. A small, very drunk, stack goes all in while I’m sitting on AcKc. I had to call.   : ) He has Jc9c. This shouldn’t be so easy.  : ) Oh, I got my flush.  And he got a straight flush. In less than 2 months I have a strong flush that gets crushed by a straight flush by players holding squat.  THE GODS OF PROBABILITY DO VEX ME!!!!
